Today, Old Fire Station 27 is a completely restored facility, and represents what the station was like when it was in operation. Three apparatus bays are filled with equipment, some dating back to the early 1900s and not to be found anywhere else. In addition, artifacts and equipment of all types are on display, dating from the 1880s through the present day. There are existing and under-development exhibits upstairs as well.

Old Station 27 also includes a Fire Service Research Library and a learning center where fire and life safety lessons are shared with both children and adults.

We invite you to visit us on any Saturday, from 10:00AM until 4:00PM.

Gift Shop hours are also 10:00AM until 4:00PM

The second floor of the facility is available for event rental. If you’ve ever thought about a unique special event, we have the place for you!

Old Fire Station 36 is housed in one of the oldest buildings still standing in San Pedro, California. At the southern-most tip of Los Angeles, San Pedro is home to the Los Angeles Harbor and some of the most unique seascapes in the LA area.

Old Station 36 includes some remarkable LAFD apparatus, artifacts from the San Pedro area and history of some of the most famous fires in this part of the city, and much more.

Ralph J. Scott, also formerly known as Fireboat #2, is a 100-foot fireboat that was attached to the Los Angeles Fire Department serving the Port of Los Angeles. She was retired in 2003 after 78 years and replaced by Warner L. Lawrence.

Los Angeles City No. 2, a state of the art fireboat with many innovations when it was built in 1925 at the Los Angeles Shipbuilding and Drydock Corp. (Todd Shipyard), San Pedro. Launched October 20, 1925, the $214,000 fire boat, later renamed Fireboat 2, the Ralph J. Scott, originally was gasoline-powered and rated at 10,200 gpm.
